About the Humane Society Canine Program
The Knox County Humane Society, located at 400 Columbus Rd in Mount Vernon, is a volunteer-run organization funded through donations. The Humane Society Canine Program selects dogs from the Knox County Animal Shelter and transports them to rescue groups. The majority of dogs are transferred to the East Coast (where spay/neuter programs have been in effect for many years).

The Humane Society has a select number of dogs available for adoption. If you are interested in one of the Humane Society dogs listed below, please contact us at kchsdogs@yahoo.com or by leaving a message at the Humane Society at 740-392-2287.

Humane Society adoption fees:
$110: Spay/Neuter, License, DA2PP, Bordatella, Rabies, Heartworm testing, Heartworm Preventative, & Flea Control
